Bayfield House is a private family holiday home overlooking Galway Bay, available for exclusive use by families and groups of up to 14 guests.

We generally rent Bayfield for weekly stays, rather than individual nights, giving you time to properly settle in, explore the Burren and this wonderful stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way — and hopefully slow down a little while you're here.

A Little Note Before Enquiring

Bayfield isn't a hotel or a B&B — you'll have the whole house and its three acres of gardens to yourselves. It's particularly suited to family holidays, gatherings of friends, golfing trips and longer stays exploring County Clare and the Burren.

Bayfield House is located in the peaceful hamlet of New Quay, County Clare, on the south side of Galway Bay — right between the coastal villages of Kinvara and Ballyvaughan.

  • Bayfield is easily accessible by car from all major Irish cities and airports.

    • From Galway City: ~1 hour

    • From Shannon Airport: ~50 minutes

    • From Dublin Airport: ~2 hours 30 minutes

    • From Knock Airport (County Mayo): ~1 hour 30 minutes

    Tip: If you’re driving along the coast, take your time — the route along the Wild Atlantic Way is spectacular.

    • Distance: 230 km (approx. 2 hours 30 minutes’ drive)

    • Suggested stops:

      • Morans on the Weir – A scenic lunch spot just 30 minutes from Bayfield.

      • Kinvara Village – Visit the castle, stroll the pier, or pick up last-minute groceries.

    ✈ Knock Airport (County Mayo)

    • Distance: 118 km (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes’ drive)

    • Suggested stops:

      • Galway City – Perfect for a cultural stop or a meal en route.

      • Connemara Mountains – A stunning drive if you have extra time.

  • If you’re coming from the UK or France, several ferries connect easily to Ireland.
    Once you arrive, the drive to Bayfield is scenic and straightforward.
