Whether you’re here for a week of exploring or a weekend of doing absolutely nothing, the house is yours to settle into.
Bayfield comfortably sleeps up to 14 guests, spread across six bedrooms, with plenty of shared spaces to come together or find your own quiet corner.
From the big old kitchen at the heart of the house to the bright garden room with views across the orchard, every room is designed to feel welcoming, lived-in, and warm.
Upstairs Bedrooms
Upstairs, the charm of Bayfield House truly comes alive. These rooms capture sweeping views over the orchards, the fields, and the distant Atlantic, inviting soft morning light and peaceful evenings. Each room is individually styled, blending heritage character with modern comfort. A cosy reading corner on the landing, overlooking the sea offers the perfect retreat — a comfortable armchair, a warm lamp, and the quiet hum of nature make it ideal for evening reading or quiet reflection.
The Bay Room (upstairs) – King bed with ensuite shower. Faces east, so you’ll wake to the sunrise over the orchard. Many call it the master bedroom.
The Flaggy Room (upstairs) – Double bed + bunk beds (sleeps four). Great for kids but the bunks are full-length, so adults are comfy too. Shares a bathroom.
The Abbey Room (upstairs) – Twin room with gorgeous views across the orchard and Burren hills. Shares the bathroom with the Flaggy Room.

The READING CORNER on the first floor landing is the perfect retreat from where to enjoy the lovely views across Galway Bay.
Downstairs Bedrooms
Our downstairs bedrooms offer comfort, privacy, and easy access for all guests. Perfect for families with young children or those who prefer to avoid stairs, each room combines homely warmth with elegant simplicity. Large windows fill the spaces with natural light and frame tranquil views of Galway Bay and the surrounding gardens, creating a restful atmosphere from the moment you arrive.
The FINNAVARRA ROOM – Super King bed with ensuite shower. Lovely sea views. It's our most accessible room for anyone who’d rather avoid stairs.

The AUGHINISH ROOM – Super King bed with ensuite bath. Right next to the sitting room and perfect for keeping an ear out with a baby monitor. Views down to the water.
The STUDIO ANNEX – Twin room with a single and a double bed. Technically separate from the rest of the house (with its own door), it’s perfect for guests wanting a little privacy. It’s included automatically for full-house bookings (14 people) or available on request for smaller groups (with a small extra charge - ask Maxx!).
GUEST SHOWER ROOM - available to all visiting guests and conveniently located between kitchen, entrance and living room it also serves as bathroom for the occupants of the studio annex.

Step outside and discover three acres of gardens and open fields that surround Bayfield House. From morning coffee on the terrace to evening strolls under wide Atlantic skies, the grounds offer space to breathe and unwind. The gardens overlook Galway Bay and the Burren Hills, providing a beautiful backdrop for family gatherings, children’s play, or simply enjoying the peace and quiet of rural Ireland.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS - Friendly neighbours grazing in the front field — a reminder that Bayfield’s charm is rooted in true country life. You may be lucky to meet them, though they don't live here all year round.
